Maya
Fixed share · 40%
Use this free expense split calculator to divide costs for trips, dinners, dates, shared apartment bills, and group activities. It handles standard equal splits, but it also supports more realistic situations where one person covers a fixed percentage and the rest of the group shares whatever is left. Once the expenses are entered, the calculator shows who paid, who owes, and the cleanest way to settle up.
Real-life money coordination
Add everyone in the group, lock in fixed percentages for the people who should cover more, and let the remaining share auto-balance across everyone else.

Formula
Owedᵢ = T × sᵢ, Netᵢ = Paidᵢ − Owedᵢ
Plain English
The calculator first determines each person’s fair share percentage. Fixed percentages are applied directly, and anyone left blank splits the remaining percentage equally. It then compares each person’s actual payments with what they should have covered. If Alex paid $300 but their fair share was $180, Alex should receive $120 back. If Sam paid $40 but owed $110, Sam should reimburse $70. The settlement step then matches people who owe money with people who should receive money until the balances net to zero.
Add each person in the group and leave a share blank for anyone who should split the remaining percentage equally.
Enter each expense and select who actually paid for it so the calculator can track real cash outflows.
Review each person’s fair share, balance, and recommended reimbursements, then export the result if you want a record to share.
Shared spending gets messy fast when one person pays for the hotel, another covers dinner, and someone in the group should pay more or less than an equal split. A good expense split calculator removes awkward math, makes reimbursements transparent, and gives everyone a clean settlement plan without needing a spreadsheet.
What this calculator helps you answer
